Fun Weeknight Dinner Idea

Turkey Club Recipe

Hello to Monday! I know some people want to say goodbye to Mondays as soon as they wake up, but there are ways you can brighten them up! To me creating fun food can enliven the day. 🙂

I’m sure most of you have seen the “pizza roll” or “pizza rose” idea all over the internet. I decided to change it up a bit and do it using a favorite pizza recipe in my house, Turkey Club. I did make the pepperoni and salami ones as well though! I’ll have exactly what you need down below for the Turkey Club recipe at the end.

This concept is super easy, especially if you go with a store-bought crust! A homemade one would work but the Pillsbury one didn’t stretch back on me like a homemade one would. Basically all you do is roll out the crust a little thinner and then cut it into about 1-2 inch strips. You then layer the sauce, cheese, any small toppings and then the meat to hold everything underneath in place. Then you just roll them up!

Something as simple as changing up the way you make a certain meal can make dinner fun and exciting! Everyone loves pizza and it’s hard to get bored with it but who doesn’t love a twist on things? These could also be a great thing for the kids to get involved with in the kitchen.

Here’s to happier week night meals! XO, G

Casual Days and Shopping Small

Shop Stevie Tennies

Hi everyone! Today I am sharing an every day go to look. I am definitely a t-shirt and jeans kind of girl but I like to dress up my style when I can.

In this outfit I went with clutching my Fossil handbag, rather than the usual cross body bag that it is. To me it makes your outfit more put together than just throwing a bag over yourself. Don’t get me wrong though! There are many times when using a cross body is the way to go … like shopping with your hands free!

Speaking of shopping! I have been wanting a pair of shoes like the ones I’m wearing for awhile. They’re a very popular style right now, modeled after Kanye West’s shoe design, and are hard to come by at a cheaper rate. I found a website called Shop Stevie and was able to score a look-a-like pair! The fact that I was supporting a shop that has recently started made it a no brainer in ordering a pair too. It’s always great knowing you are supporting someone’s dream. I will leave a link below to the website. 🙂

Thank you for supporting my dream as well as you follow my blog. 🙂 I hope for it to one day take off and I’ll have my followers from the beginning to always thank!

Another special thanks to my fabulous photographer Amber! I’m excited for the many more outfit shoots we will have to come!

Trader Joe’s Tarte D’Alsace

I added a little bleu cheese

Happy Friday! Today I decided I had to share this because this flat bread is something I always order at my favorite restaurant. Although this one wasn’t freshly made and is a slightly different recipe, Trader Joe’s still never fails to amaze me.

You can find this in the freezer section at Trader Joe’s! I followed the directions in preheating my oven to 450•F and baked it on a baking sheet. For some reason though it didn’t get very crispy on the bottom towards the middle. I let it bake for a little bit on the rack alone and would suggest doing the same after it’s been on the sheet for some time if it isn’t to your desired crispiness.

I was really impressed with how the flat bread came out and tasted! I did add bleu cheese to it before I baked it because it didn’t look very cheesy. The restaurant recipe of this flat bread uses bleu cheese so I knew it’d work. If I wouldn’t have done that I’m not sure it would have had that sharp taste bleu cheese gives you, and the flat bread would have been missing something. The caramelized onions and ham were pretty perfect. I was surprised at how sweet the onions were and they didn’t seem like they were once frozen. The ham was average but you can’t expect a 4 star restaurant flat bread from a freezer, right? The crust was something different and I liked the change from the typical doughy pizza crust. It was almost like a puff pastry, yet not as flaky. It was light and crispy!

Overall I would definitely say give this flat bread a go! If you’re looking for something light and quick for lunch it’s perfect. It’s not a heavy flatbread, even with all the delicious and strong flavors, so there’s room for a salad or even dessert. 😉 I also think this would be beautiful as an appetizer at a party! Brighten it up with fresh bleu cheese and your guests will be coming back for seconds and probably thirds.

Here’s to weekend parties with delicious and vibrant food!

Mini Handbags

I have to say whoever came up with the idea of a mini handbag was genius! As a kid I loved having a big purse, even though I had nothing to put in them. Now that I am a young adult I realized big handbags can be annoying when you don’t have to carry around that much stuff.

Getting a mini sized handbag though is the perfect balance! There is the perfect amount of room for a smaller wallet, maybe a pack of gum, your phone and whatever else you may need. In addition it makes finding things easier, but you’re bag is still stylish!

I recently found this Vera Wang mini handbag at Kohls. I love the structured look of it, plus in almost all of Vera’s handbags at Kohls, she includes a zippered pouch in the middle of her bags so you have three sections to organize things.

It was on clearance so unfortunately it is no longer available, but I have linked a few similar ones here below!

I had to share this oversized duffel bag because I am so excited about it! I don’t do a lot of travel, yet with going off to college soon I wanted a nice duffel bag that I could use on the weekends when I decide to go home. I love how clean the black and gold make it look and then the pop of red adds some fun to it. It is also a VERY quilted bag, almost pillowed, if you can tell from the pictures. It’s perfect though because I won’t have to worry about anything getting smashed, like my glasses, if I do use it someday for travel when my bag could be tossed around. The quilted aspect of the bag doesn’t compromise any space in it though!

This bag is a little more pricey but I was able to get a pretty good deal through HauteLook, a company through Nordstrom. Their sale is over on Adrienne Vittadini luggage but I still recommend you check them out, they always have great sales with awesome deals! I was able to find the bag on Overstock if you’re eyeing this bag up! I’ll leave the link below.

Here’s to fun weekend trips and safe travels!

Welcome

My name is Greta, my middle name is Lee, and I am so excited to start a blog! I have high hopes that I can blog about my life and post recipes or outfit inspiration among other things. I love to cook, decorate and shop as well. I’m 18 years old so I’d love to write about college life as I start that next adventure. As I gain more experience, time and funds I would like to bring the best of everything and anything to my readers. I hope I can launch this into something great someday! Although it may be at a slow pace, please stick with me!
