Nursery Reveal

I feel so blessed to be sharing with you my nursery design for our little girl on the way. This is a space I’ve been dreaming of for years. I collected a few pieces here and there over the past few years just waiting to fill this room. Babies don’t need elaborate nurseries, or even a dedicated room to just them if you don’t have one, but to me it’s creating energy. This room is peaceful, creative, a little whimsical, and dreamy. It brings a sense of play and wonder that I hope my daughter feels every day. Take a look at the reveal as well as the vision board I created before the real room took shape.

Linking the pieces that I can, or at least similar ones. Thanks for coming to the blog!! XO G

What I’m Shopping For: Storage Benches

Hello and welcome back! After a few months off, I am back, hoping to bring more design series to you. I’m starting off with a fun one; What I’m Shopping For. It seems like you can never have enough opportunity for storage. My bedroom accent pillows are taking over our floor, and a place to get your socks on each morning sounds like a luxury! I’ve been looking for a bench to elevate our master bedroom and provide functionality. I’m sharing a few options below all under $200. The second bench stands out to me with the accented curved legs. Now, when will I add it to the cart? Which one is your favorite?!

Happy Shopping – xo, G

Wallpaper: Fable Zev Butterfly

Happy Friday! Today’s design has me dreaming of Spring. Everyone on my Instagram chose this pink/peach colored butterfly wallpaper over the purple color. How could you go wrong?! This print is an art piece in itself, I really kept the rest of the accents simple. A fun mirror, sweet wall hooks and as always, bookshelves and picture frames. This print then pairs perfectly with Sherwin Williams paint color Peach Blossom. Check out the design below and let me know what you think! XO – G

Wallpaper: Forest Winter Berry

It sure is Winter where I am! But this nursery design says anything but cold and dull. It is cozy, sweet and just the perfect touch of color for your baby. I personally think this room could be fit for a prince or princess. The wallpaper print here is enlarged so you can see the detail. Head to US WallDecor to see more! I love the mix of pattern here against the wallpaper with the glider, and the art piece above the crib. I’ve added the classic decor pieces otherwise – shelves, frames and a mirror. Let me know what you think and if you’ll be adding wallpaper to your space anytime soon! Thanks for stopping by – XO, G

Styling Spaces: Nursery & Kids

Another Friday, another design! Today we are wrapping up my design series ‘Styling Spaces’, and this one is for the nurseries and kids rooms. When it comes to designing spaces for your little ones, you don’t need much for décor pieces. The focus is going to be on the wall art and adding special touches here and there. You don’t want them grabbing breakables throughout their room! I curated the below pieces typical to my other nursery designs and what’s most important. Wall shelves and an art piece, plus practical storage. I added here a fun elephant piggy bank, coordinating picture frames and the ultimate stuffed animals by Jellycat. You have to check them out if you aren’t already familiar! Let me know if you have questions as you shop. As always, thanks for stopping by! XO, G

Styling Spaces: Bath & Laundry

Happy Friday! Who’s been doing their Fall cleaning?! I always find myself in a mood to clean with each new season. And what makes cleaning even better?? When your space is beautifully created. It makes things feel just put together! Today’s design is all about the rooms you’re cleaning in – the bath and laundry rooms. These spaces are not always the most glamorous, but there are pockets of space to create some sophistication. I love to find style in storage pieces in these spaces like baskets and jars. Small wall décor can also go a long way. Adding a wall shelf to your laundry or bathroom adds room for storage and styling pieces too. Check out the details below and let me know what you think! How do you make your laundry and bath rooms feel more elevated? Thanks for stopping by – XO, G

Monochromatic Jungle Nursery: Budget Series

We’ve all seen the neutral nurseries. Cream is the color! But what about sticking to all blues, purples or pinks?! Today’s nursery was inspired by my first neutral nursery, but I wanted to stray away from the cream colored palette. I found myself sticking to a blue gray color base. The rug is our pop of art here, with the coordinating wall color. But the rest of the pieces and colors are very monochromatic. I think this design is peaceful in a way, with a lot of room to grow for styling if you’d like. Maybe add another pop of color to the crib sheets or changing pad cover. When sticking to a budget, the big pieces are where your money is going to go, but keep the décor simple and you still have a perfect space for your little cub to grow. Today’s total was $1,162. Just one more week of sticking to a budget here! Haha. I hope you are enjoying this series. We’ll see you back soon – XO, G

Sugar & Spice Nursery Design: Budget Series

Another Friday, another design! And this weeks design kicks off our 2nd series, designing on a budget! Don’t get me wrong, I tend to have expensive taste and want to pick the best of the best, but we can’t always go crazy and spend $5,000 on a bedroom makeover. I also have a degree in Accounting and who doesn’t love to budget a little to see their bank account grow? Keep your money circulating though to see it come back to you, and you have the best of both worlds! So today we’re combining design and budgeting in one. I’m a firm believer that spaces, colors, and pieces that surround you will influence your energy and moods. Creating a space for your baby and kids will be that much more special to both them and you. I’m setting the budget for these next 4 nurseries to be under $1,500! We’re putting most of the budget to the big pieces; the rocker, crib and dresser. As for décor, you can stay fairly simple with bookshelves, frames that you could thrift and fill with Etsy prints, and I love wall decals or peel & stick wall paper to fill an accent wall. Paint can also be an easy room transformation, but the supplies to do so can get expensive. I budgeted on the higher end at $100, but that may be a spot you can save on! Let me know if you have any budgeting questions, or if there is something you want to see on next week’s saving design. Thanks for stopping by! XO – G

A Fairy Garden Nursery

I’m sharing with you today the 4th final nursery design in this print inspired series! This purple floral print has been the sweetest blanket I’ve sewn yet. Make sure you head to my Instagram page and swipe to see the pattern! Surprisingly, I did not go the purple color route for this one. I found a floral printed glider from the Home Depot and really built the design around it. The furniture pieces from Pottery Barn Kids led me to picture an enchanted, whimsical garden, like the blanket print, but the grey washed tone kept this design bright. Hence the name Fairy Garden! The accents in this nursery are really simple then. Crepe paper wall flowers and little butterflies from Pottery Barn Kids, a rug to ground the space. Sometimes, less is more! Yet I loved going outside the typical pink or purple nursery design. I am making sure I challenge myself in these vision boards. You’ll also find two of my favorite baby brands I love to follow! If you haven’t noticed, I’m building a baby boutique for everyone along with my designs 😉 BabyBjörn’s Bouncer is one of the simpler bouncers on the market to sit your baby in and play. It can also easily be moved around your house and folds flat when not in use! And for the sweetest and softest outfits for your baby, I turn to Lou Lou and Company for sophisticated patterns. The florals fit this design just perfectly! You may not always have a room you need to shop for, but shopping for babies and kids will always be needed. Let me know if you’re in need of a gift guide!

Thank you for following along these past 4 designs! I hope you’ll be back for the next series! – XO, G

A Bear in the Forest – Nursery Design

Week 3 of my nursery design series! Which one will be your favorite?! Today’s design is inspired by a camo print blanket I’m working on sewing. I pieced a room around it, wanting a space to bring you into another world. Just like the forest does! Wallpaper is a really fun way to dress up a room and transport you somewhere else. This pine tree print varying in shades of green is almost dreamy. You might be taken to a drive up the mountains, or to the Christmas tree farm where the snow has fallen. It’s just perfect! I chose another iron crib by Namesake, this time in gold. I loved the contrast here against the green, but it does come in two other finishes. A crib is really what grounds a nursery, but I kept the dresser and glider still different and fun. I went with a taller dresser this time, although you may want to do lower for an easier changing station. The changing basket in front of the dresser can be moved around the house too if you’d like. And then how sweet and cozy is the textured glider. I need to see it in person soon! These designs are all about inspiring you and hoping you find a piece that excites you as you dream up your next space!

Make sure to check out the links below to the décor pieces. The fun bear accents like the bear mobile, bear bookends or the classic bear rocker. I also found the animal tracks art piece to be so fun!
